Next meeting Sat 19th November

The next meeting is in Chester Library on Saturday 19th November. We will be discussing The Watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley.

We need to start thinking about the first four books for 2017. At this meeting we need to choose a shortlist of about a dozen books so we can select our four favourites in the December meeting. So starting thinking about all those books you’ve enjoyed so much you want everyone else to read them.

The books still on the shortlist from the last selection are:

  • A Lee Martinez – Emperor Mollusk Versus the Sinister Brain
  • Douglas R Brown – Tamed
  • Jack Williamson – Darker Than You Think
  • John Scalzi – Old Man’s War
  • Lawrence M. Schoen – Barsk
  • Pat Cadigan – Synners
  • Paul McAuley – Something Coming Through
  • Piers Anthony – On a Pale Horse
  • Sergei Lukyanenko – Night Watch
  • Stephen Baxter – The Time Ships

We already have ten books on the shortlist, but some of those have been on the shortlist so long they really need putting out of their misery!

There are summaries of some of the suggested books in this pdf.
